I have accumulated many personal reviews while listening to albums. My reviewing style is non-conventional and was only intended for myself. Sometimes I will only use one sentence to describe an album if I feel that is all that's required. Other times I will review an album while I'm still listening to it, leading to a song-by-song review of the album (bringing the size of the review to nearly dissertation-level). There are times when I will even come back to a review to add information that I didn't know when originally writing the review. The point is that I won't edit my reviews to make them more readable or conventional. My reviews are always a direct result of what I was feeling when I wrote them and I want to let that feeling come through.

Opeth - Watershed [2008]

One of Opeth's best. Beautiful opener and an overall creative and very well-written album. A thousand times better than their last album (Ghost Reveries), which was a junker. My only complaint is with "The Lotus Eater" because the beginning few minutes are basically ripped straight from Textures' style, but then the song completely redeems itself by the end with really creative structuring and riffs.

Opeth - Blackwater Park [2001]

Starts off strong with first track. Second track is beautiful. Of course, this album is in classic Opeth style. Not much in the way of creativity, but they haven't seemed to exhaust the amount of songs that can be written in this style. So, it's not old-hat yet.

Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse [1998]

Great songwriting throughout the album. One of the few Opeth albums that is a joy to listen to with each song. The production obviously isn't quite as good as the later albums, but the songwriting and excellent execution certainly makes up for it. Definitely one of my favorite albums by them.
