I have accumulated many personal reviews while listening to albums. My reviewing style is non-conventional and was only intended for myself. Sometimes I will only use one sentence to describe an album if I feel that is all that's required. Other times I will review an album while I'm still listening to it, leading to a song-by-song review of the album (bringing the size of the review to nearly dissertation-level). There are times when I will even come back to a review to add information that I didn't know when originally writing the review. The point is that I won't edit my reviews to make them more readable or conventional. My reviews are always a direct result of what I was feeling when I wrote them and I want to let that feeling come through.

Sister Machine Gun - Influence [2003]

CATCHY!! YAY. Unfortunately, the energy completely dies after the first track and doesn't come back until "The Death of Me". This whole album isn't nearly as good as Metropolis. There's complete lack of energy for most of the time with only a few sprints throughout the course of a week. Still, not as bad as burn was.

Sister Machine Gun - [R]evolution [1999]

The drums are more natural and free-form. "Carbon Copy" is much more rock than Industrial Rock. "Transient One" is the first time this album feels like it's more of an electronic album. It's interesting stuff, regardless. Average catchiness as well. There's quite a combination on this album; Rock, Blues, Kawaii electronic, Industrial, to name a few. The main problem is that it's not nearly as exciting of an album as Metropolis and it feels like a lack of focus. Songwriting isn't as catchy either.

Sister Machine Gun - Metropolis [1997]

Awesome intro track. Less than a minute into "Desperation" and I can tell this will be a much better album than Burn. The production is a bit weak, but with a simple adjustment to the volume it changes drastically. Turn this fucker up and all is well. Damn, this is a really good album! Through and through, every song is good in some way. "Admit" radically changes the style to something as beautiful as a rain of rose petals. It's not the most creative, but that lacking is made up for with very good songwriting.

Sister Machine Gun - Burn [1995]

The first track is pretty unimpressive. It's a bit boring, far too repetitive, and very hollow compared to SotF. So, all in all, there's only two decent songs on the fucking album and it's the title track and "Snake". The rest is just thin and not very catchy. I like the fact that they tried something different for "Snake", but it can't save the fucking album.

Sister Machine Gun - Sins of the Flesh [1992]

Not a bad start at all. I was expecting much less. "Sins of the Flesh" is pretty catchy and it's got a solid beat with good feeling samples. Second track is a really enjoyable listen as well. I've been sort of subconsciously hoping to add an Industrial Rock band like this to my library. There's virtually nothing at all in the way of variation between the tracks, but I expected that from a band in this genre and from this time period. The songwriting is solid all the way through, even if it's based on a bit of a formula. One thing that seems to keep coming back to nag me throughout the album is that the vocals feel a bit amateur at times.
